Random Scrappy Challenge- Feel Beautiful Today

Hello everyone!  I'm here to share my layout that was created for the Random Scrappy Challenge series on YouTube.  This is a series Marie of Marie's Notes and I created.  This week we were to channel our inner Paige Evans.  I LOVE LOVE LOVE Paige's creations.  They are all so gorgeous!  I can't get enough.  So I decided to take on one of her white on white designs and add pops of color.  Here is what I came up with:

The photos are more SnapChat pics of my older daughter.  She is such a selfie super star!  I love the colors and the softness of the photos.  I took advantage of her looking up in both photos to draw attention to my title die cut.

True to Paige's style, I used hand stitching to outline this butterfly cut file.  This was a free cut file I found but I have no idea where.  I had used the negative space as a stencil to watercolor in the background using Shimmerz paints in Royal Purple, Peacock Plume, and Magenta.  I popped the butterflies up on fun foam and layered in in a way that just allows small amounts of the color to show through.  I love the softness of it!

For embellishments I used the Pink Paislee-Paige Evans-Oh My Heart ephemera pack.  I also used a tiny heart punch to add some glittery silver and magenta hearts.  The silver is glitter cardstock from Michael's and the magenta is glitter washi tape by American Crafts.

Please head over and check out my video.  Subscribe while you're there so that you did miss out on any of my upcoming videos!  Then click the link in the description box and see what Marie has created!

Hello Everyone!  I'm back!  I wasn't really gone but I haven't been posting on my blog at all.  Sometimes real life gets in the way and I am not able to keep up with everything.  So I had stopped blogging and posting on but kept up with YouTube, Instagram, and Facebook.  But I'm back now.  I am going to try to post more regularly about my scrappy goings on.

With that said, I have my Sparklers design team layout for this week to share.  For the month of July, Spiegelmom Scraps is switching it up every week.  We have different inspiration for each week of the month.  The first week was Emoji Love.  Here is what I created for that:
I used the free cut file from the Spiegelmom Scraps blog.  The sequins I used are the Gotta Love Emojis sequin mix.  I used some Shimmerz paints from my stash for the background.  The background paper is from Pink Paislee-Paige Evans-Take Me Away collection.  The two papers that I backed my photo with is from the Pebbles-Jen Hadfield-Homemade collection.  This is such a fun and colorful layout.  It makes me smile :)

This week is Birthday Celebration week.  We had to scrap a birthday that we normally wouldn't.  For me that's pretty much any birthday!  So here is what I created to celebrate the US birthday :
This is so over the top Fourth of July fun!  I know that there is a spelling error :(  But it doesn't bother me.  I created this layout based on the July 1st sketch from Stuck Sketches. I used the Chunky Cork Stars, Honor Guard sequins, and Stargazer sequins.  The navy and striped papers are from Amy Tangerine Better Together collection.  The red polka dot is from the Echo Park Head Over Heels collection.  I enjoy the red pop it adds.  I used my Silhouette Portrait to cut out the title using fonts from  Last I pulled out my Star Dust Stickles to cover the stars.  That added just the right amount of sparkle to my cork stars.  Considering I dislike creating themed pages, I think I did a fine job!

There are process videos for each of these layout on the Spiegelmom Scraps YouTube channel.  I am loving being on the design team there!  The inspiration is awesome.  The sequins are to die for!  I'm totally hooked!  If you are interested in purchasing any product from the shop you can use my code DAISIE15 to receive 15% off.  Oh I almost forgot!  The felt and cork pieces in the shop are being discontinued so hurry over before they are all gone!

Thanks for visiting!  See you again soon!

Scrappy Journey: Solo Scrapbooking

Hello scrappers!  Sorry this is going up a day late!  I was having computer (cough*laziness*cough) issues.  I am back with another post for the Scrappy Journey series.  Today I am going to talk about being a solo scrapbooker.

When I started scrapbooking in 2009, it was a hobby to help fill my time.  It is something that I was super excited about.  But I had no real life friends to share it with.  This was rough because I really wanted to talk about it.... all of the time.

In lieu of scrappy friends, I used magazines and books to learn more.  There were no scrapbook stores near me.  So I struggled to develop my style based off the brief articles in the magazines and the out-dated ideas in the books.  My source of scrapbooking supplies was the local Walmart.  I really felt lonely.  That's when I discovered the enormous online community.

Paper Issues Layout Share and Process Video

Hello my scrappy people!  I have a few layouts today that were created for Paper Issues Facebook challenges.  One is for February and one is for March.  I've decided to combine the layouts I create for Paper Issues into one post to make it easier on me.

This first layout was created for the February Cut It Up challenge.  I do not own a die cutting machine (boohoo).  So I have begun to find ways to use cut files.  For this month, I used tracing paper and traced the hearts onto a piece of white cardstock.  I prepped the white cardstock with some gold Heidi Swapp Color Shine and some Frozen Lake Glimmer Mist from Tattered Angels.  I then pierced the paper around each of the hearts and hand-stitched most in white thread and a few in gold.  Here is the layout:

Look At That Hat Process Video / Stuck Sketches

Hello Everyone!!  I'm excited to be back with another layout and process video.  I have decided to narrow down the sketches I use.  At one point I was using sketches from 5-6 different blogs and Facebook groups.  This was time consuming and frustrating trying to keep up.  So I have narrowed it down to three; Stuck?! Sketches, Creative Scrappers, and Paper Issues.  Now I'm not saying I won't ever use any other blogs but for the most part I'm sticking with these three.

Today, I have a layout for the March 1st sketch from Stuck?! Sketches.  Laura Whitaker really knows how to put a sketch together!  I love the use of multiple photos, the grid design, and even the circles (bane of my scrappy existence).  Here is the sketch:

Scrappy Journey: Personal Scrapbook Style Evolution

Hi scrapbooking friends!  Today I am kicking off a new series on my channel.  I wanted to explore my scrappy journey and how I have evolved as a scrapbooker over the years.  I thought I would share this exploration with all of you!

I wanted to start with the most obvious of evolutions, my personal style.  I'm sure everyone can see this type of change in their own work.  I first dabbled in scrapbooking in 2004 or 2005.  I made an album for my husband about our life together.  I had no idea where to start.  One of my friends at the time brought me to our local Archivers to get some supplies.  I was totally overwhelmed.  I ended up leaving with very little.

I Moved!!

Hello everyone! I have decided to make a change with my blog. Originally, I had chosen to go with It had an app that allowed me to post from my phone and seemed convenient. I tried it out for about 6 months. While the ability to post from my phone was great, I felt that I was missing out on things that I had on a previous blog on Blogger.

I'm not sure if it is my lack of ability or if it is a flaw with I was not able to customize my blog as much as I wanted. It was hard to make changes on the things I could customize. It was hard to get followers. The formatting for my posts was frustrating.  I had remembered Blogger as having a more user friendly platform. So, I finally chose to make the move to Blogger.

{Snow Time} Layout (1/16/17)

Hello everyone!  I'm here with a layout I created using the Creative Scrappers January sketch  (302).  I was really inspired to have fun with this layout. Here is the sketch:

Scraplift layouts (1/10/17)

Hello! I'm finally starting to get some of my mojo back after the holidays and starting to scrap more. Christmas really takes it out of me. I have completed a few layouts and am working on editing the videos for them to go up on YouTube.
Here are 2 layouts I completed for Paper Issues December scraplift Sunday.

Layout share (12/7/16)

Hello! I have 3 layouts to share today. I made these while tackling the mountain of laundry in my house. The first was created using the Paper Issues mood board from the Facebook group.  Here is the layout:

{A Visit With Santa} (12/1/16)

Hello!  I am here with an exciting post!  I was chosen as guest designer for the December 1st sketch from Stuck?! Sketches and it is time to reveal my creation!  Here is the sketch:

{Daisie's Scraps} (11/30/16)

Hello!  I'm back with a layout for the Week 3 sketch from Lets Get Sketchy.  Here is the sketch:
Here is my layout:
I did stray a little from the sketch.  I tried using thinner strips like in the sketch but I felt that chunkier ones worked better.  I also added a horizontal strip to allow for a resting place for my photo.  That is one of the things I enjoy about sketches.  It allows you to have a starting point that allows you to make adjustments to make it your own.

Here is a list of products:
  • background: Colorbök
  • turquoise hearts: Fancy Pants Millie & June
  • geometric pattern and pink hearts: Crate Paper Hello Love
  • text print: MAMBI
  • turquoise felt border: Freckled Fawn
  • flair badge: Fancy Pants
  • teal picture layer: American Crafts
  • vellum: Recollections
  • triangle (top cluster): My Mind's Eye Cut and Paste

Thanks for visiting!  Please check out the video.  See you again soon!

{Yum Noodles} (11/29/16)

And here is my layout:
I chose to stay really close to the sketch.  I decided to scrap these photos of my daughters stealing my noodles while at Noodles & Co.  I just had fun with this layout.  I love the colors.

Here is a list of products I used:
  • Background and black paper layer: MAMBI
  • pink layer: Crate Paper Hello Love

{Amazing Adventure} (11/26/17)

Hello!  Back again with a layout created for the Lets Get Sketchy Week 2 sketch.  I wanted to try something a little different with this layout.  So I followed the diagonal line of the sketch but changed it a little to suit me.  Here is the sketch:
Now I tried a couple of different options for the grid designs with the shapes.  But I really wanted to do something a bit different.  Here is my layout:
Now this is a very simple layout.  I chose to sew waves in both blue and white in the top left and bottom right corners.  I layered some vellum and Amy Tangerine papers behind the photo.  Then used minimal embellishments.  I put a border on the whole thing to tie in the colors and frame the layout.  Overall, I really like this layout.

Here is a list of products:
  • background: Colorbök
  • blue/green layer: Amy Tangerine Better Together
  • polka dot vellum: Recollections
  • sun and wave chipboard, life is beautiful sticker: Bella Blvd

Thanks for visiting! See you again soon!

{Hello Weekend} (11/20/16)

Hello again!  I am back with a layout for the Creative Scrappers 300th sketch!  Congratulations goes out to all of the talent (especially Kristine Davidson)  that brings us these sketches and the wonderful inspiration layouts!  Here is the sketch:
cs-300-my-creative-scrapbookNow, who doesn't love a great grid design?  There were so many things that I wanted to do with this sketch.  Where I ended up was a little bit of a surprise to me.  Check it out:
img_3557img_3555img_3556I chose to do a fall layout.  The photo is my children sitting with their pumpkins as we waited for the wagon to come pick us up from the pumpkin patch.  I love the photo and wanted to highlight it.  I also fell in love with the background paper.  It is from a Recollections pack from Michaels.  I think it is gorgeous!  So those two elements were what I ended up basing my layout on.  I chose to do a smaller grid with different sized squares to allow for more of the background to show.  My only regret is that I wish I would have layered the squares a little more.  But I really love how this turned out.
Here is a list of products I used:
  • Background: Recollections Boho
  • all of the cards: We R Memory Keepers Love Notes
  • vellum: The Paper Studio
  • Wood veneer stars, people, and hello: Studio Calico
  • Weekend wood veneer: Scraptastic
  • felt border: Freckled Fawn
  • letters and stars foam: Dear Lizzy Cordial Thickers
Thanks for visiting!  I will be back with another layout soon!

{Family Hay Ride} (11/19/16)

Hello again!  I'm back with another layout created using a sketch...shocking I know.  I am really enjoying using sketches.  I find that it saves me a little time when I sit down to scrap.  And since I am usually doing 12 other things at the same time, it also saves my brain a little.  Anyway, this sketch it from Sketch N Scrap #116.  Here is the sketch:
sketch-n-scrap-116I thought this is a cute sketch and great layout design.  But I had scrappers block when I went to actually create my page.  I had a picture in my head of what I wanted to do and not one single idea worked how I wanted it to.  I started to make a video but changed the layout so many times that I just stopped trying to record.  But finally I came up with something and I really like how it turned out.  Here is my layout:
The photo is of my family on a hay ride at the pumpkin patch.  We were having a great time together.  I tried to pull out some of the colors from the photo but also wanted it to pop.  I didn't have any other photos that I wanted to add to this page so I chose to use cut aparts for the 2 little photos on the sketch.  I also chose to eliminate the bottom cluster because I felt that it would be too busy.  Overall I'm really happy how this turned out!
Here is a list of products I used:
  • Background: Colorbök
  • teal heart paper: Fancy Pants Millie & June
  • wood grain and grey diagonal stripe: Crate Paper Craft Market
  • orange and red layers: Crate Paper Wonder
  • teal ombrè layer: My Minds Eye Cut & Paste

  • Sequins & Vellum: The Paper Studio
  • wood alphas: Freckled Fawn
  • Ink: Hero Arts Soft Granite
  • ampersand die cut: Teresa Collins Something Wonderful
  • ticket: unknown manufacturer
Thank you for visiting!  See you again soon!

{happy} (11/17/16)

Hello! Today I have a layout I created using the Let's Get Sketchy Week 1 sketch. I thought this was an adorable sketch with all of the butterflies. And it just so happens that I recently purchased my first butterfly punch, so I felt it was fate :) Here is the sketch:
Here is the layout I created:
I followed the sketch closely. I wanted to do something soft and girlie. I chose a Snapchat filter photo of me and my youngest. I thought it went great with the butterflies. I kept with my theme this month and used Dear Lizzy Polka Dot Party 6x6 paper pad.
