Hi Everyone! Lately I have been struggling with my mojo. I have been creating a lot for design team commitments and not enough just for fun. So I decided to just play. I went to the Paper Issues Facebook Group and chose a couple of challenges to play along with. Today I have two layouts to share with you!
The first layout I did not film. I created it using a sketch from Stuck?! Sketches. I chose to pair the sketch with the Free File Friday challenge at Paper Issues. I used the free Magical cut file from the shop. Here's what I made:
I started with a white card stock background. I then dug through my scrap bin and found the rest of the papers I used on this layout. There are papers from Little Yellow Bicycle, Recollections, My Mind's Eye, Pebbles Jen Hadfield, Crate Paper, One Canoe Two, and Amy Tangerine. I chose to go for color and I'm super happy with the results! I finished off my page with some SpiegelMom Scraps The Nice List sequins.
The second layout for today I made a process video for. This one was created for the Paper Issues Scraplift Sunday week 1 Challenge. I used a free Hexagon cut file from the PI shop for this one. I was influenced by Melinda Sweetman on YouTube to use my watercolors to create the background.
I created my own title with my Silhouette portrait using a free generic computer font and one I purchased from the Silhouette store (Ginger Doodle font). I dug deep in the stash and pulled out some buttons, one for each color used. I used some Bella Blvd. enamel hearts and an acetate sheet for the tag. The banner is Crate Paper Cool Kid. Check out the process video for more information!

SpiegelMom Scraps Superhero Scrapbook Layout

Hi Everyone! Today I am up on the SpiegelMom Scraps YouTube channel with a fun Superhero layout. The theme for the month of February is Love and Cut Files. I used this opportunity to document my family's love of superheroes.
I chose to start with a white card stock background. I used some of the Shimmerz Blingz in Hi Ho Silver to add a few splatters. I set that aside to dry and worked on my cut file. The cut file I am using is a design from the Silhouette store by Paige Evans. Its a gorgeous star wreath. I sprayed the cut file with Shimmerz Spritz in Chance Of Rain to make it a beautiful blue color. Then came time to build the layout.
I dug through my stash and found the Bella Blvd. All American collection. It just screamed to be used for this layout! I took a chunk of my favorite design and put it at the top and bottom of the layout. I then found the border strip paper and cut a couple to layer with the header and footer. I found a heart from a cut apart card that worked perfectly as part of my title.
The hardest part of my layouts lately is making words out of the alphas that I have. I found these chipboard alphas from Fancy Pants that worked great and I was able to spell everything I needed. I added some October Afternoon Sticky Key alphas to finish it off.
The best part of the layout is the finishing. I love adding sequins to my layouts to create texture and add sparkle. Today I used the Southern Blue Bells and In The New Year sequin mixes. I added some iridescent white sequins to the cut file to make the stars shine. I think scattered some royal blue, silver, and red sequins around the page.

Weekly Wrap Up: November 6-12, 2017

Hi everyone! I'm back with another weekly wrap up. This week I didn't feel as creative as usual. But I got it done.
On Tuesday, I had another travelers notebook spread up. I am still working in my mixed media notebook from Scrapping Wonders. This week was about my Grandma Bev. I used an entire pack of stickers from the Dollar Store on this layout. I didn't hide my journaling as much because it wasn't as private as the other layouts.
On Thursday, I had a layout for the Crafty Channel Surf Something Inspirational Team. I was inspired by something old. I used a 2012 October Afternoon Paper as well as many October Afternoon embellishments for this layout. The colors are fantastic!
Friday, I had another card for the YouTube series I am doing with Jen (AKA Kaezmum). This series is on where we are scrap lifting Kristina Werner's holiday cards. We will be doing one per week through November. This one was using watercolor to create a wintery bouquet on the card. I used Felicity Jane stamps.
Then today I have a layout on the SpiegelMom Scraps YouTube channel. We are using sketches and circles as inspiration for this month. I am on a white on white kick this month. This layout uses Blue Moon sequin mix from the shop. I love this mix. It is pearlescent powder blue and dark woodgrain. Click HERE to go to the video.
Thank you so much for visiting! I will see you again next week!
