Weekly Wrap Up: November 6-12, 2017

Hi everyone!  I'm back with another weekly wrap up.  This week I didn't feel as creative as usual.  But I got it done.
On Tuesday, I had another travelers notebook spread up.  I am still working in my mixed media notebook from Scrapping Wonders. This week was about my Grandma Bev.  I used an entire pack of stickers from the Dollar Store on this layout.  I didn't hide my journaling as much because it wasn't as private as the other layouts.

On Thursday, I had a layout for the Crafty Channel Surf Something Inspirational Team.  I was inspired by something old.  I used a 2012 October Afternoon Paper as well as many October Afternoon embellishments for this layout.  The colors are fantastic!

Friday, I had another card for the YouTube series I am doing with Jen (AKA Kaezmum).  This series is on where we are scrap lifting Kristina Werner's holiday cards.  We will be doing one per week through November. This one was using watercolor to create a wintery bouquet on the card.  I used Felicity Jane stamps.

Then today I have a layout on the SpiegelMom Scraps YouTube channel.  We are using sketches and circles as inspiration for this month.  I am on a white on white kick this month.  This layout uses Blue Moon sequin mix from the shop.  I love this mix.  It is pearlescent powder blue and dark woodgrain.  Click HERE to go to the video.

Thank you so much for visiting!  I will see you again next week!

Write Your Story 3 & 4: Travelers Notebook Journaling

Hey everyone!  I have another Travelers Notebook spread using my mixed media insert from Scrapping Wonders.  Last week I explained my journaling that I am doing in this insert.  I didn't really get to explain my spread.  So I will do 2 in today's post.

This layout I created last week.  It used a lot of watercolor in the background.  The paper in this book took that watercolor wonderfully.  In the video it looks like it wrinkled the paper but as it dried it flattened back out.  I used a free cut file from Paper Issues for the title and flower details.

This layout is about me and my struggle with self-esteem.  I was able to identify why I think I feel the way I do about myself.  As I wrote my journaling, it really became clear to me that there is a reason that I have low self-esteem.  It felt great to make that realization.  I used the title piece to cover up the journaling for this layout.

For this week, I chose to do a layout about my grandmother.  She had early onset Alzheimer's.  I have a lot of memories of her growing up.  In my journaling I shared some of my memories and my feelings for her.  I wrote it in a way that it would be difficult to completely make out the words.  But this journaling was a little less personal so I didn't go to great lengths to hide it.

I used a whole package of Dollar Store stickers on this layout.  I also used some gold foil Thickers for the title.  I adore how this turned out!

As always, the video for these are in the playlist on my YouTube channel.  I am planning to continue this Travelers Notebook series on Tuesdays.

Thanks for visiting!  See you again soon!

Weekly Wrap Up: October 30th-November 5th, 2017

Hi everyone!  Today I'm back with my weekly wrap up.  This has been a busy week!

Halloween was on Tuesday this week.  So not only did I post but I was also out making new memories!  Tuesday I had a travelers notebook spread and a Random Scrappy Challenge layout.  Both went up on YouTube.

Friday, I started a new YouTube series with Jen (AKA kaezmum) in which we are scrap lifting Kristina Werner's beautiful Christmas cards.  This is one of those series in which our outcome may be a complete failure as neither of us have done cards like this before.  I think we did alright this week!

I also created a layout for the Secret Not Secret Kit Club FB sketch challenge.  I started out trying to use my kit but ended up with some of my stash.  I did use 1 sticker from my kit though!  The background is Maggie Holmes.  The letter stickers are a mix of Fancy Pants, Crate Paper, and Jillibean Soup.  The star cut file is free from Paper Issues.  The sequins are Deck The Halls from SpiegelMom Scraps.

Today, I am up on the SpiegelMom Scraps YouTube channel with a layout using a sketch with circles.  Circles.... ugh.  But I think I tackled them pretty well this week!  If you haven't already head over and subscribe to the SpiegelMom Scraps YouTube channel so that you don't miss anything that's going on!  And if you are interested you can use my code (Daisie15) in the shop for 15% off your next purchase!

Journaling In My Travelers Notebook

Hello everyone! Happy Halloween!! I'm here to share with you how I am using my first ever Travelers Notebook.  I am using a mixed media standard size notebook from Scrapping Wonders.  If you are looking for a new insert I highly recommend Beth's shop.  She has a variety of options to choose from.  My first order the mixed media standard size and a grid personal size insert.  I am using the grid for notes and things.

In the mixed media insert I decided to start a journaling project.  I don't journal normally.  The reason for this is I am afraid someone will read it.  I have a lot of negative going on inside me.  I had a complicated childhood and have some anger that I struggle with.  I suffer from depression and anxiety.  I feel like if I can get my feelings and memories out that it may help me.

So I decided that the best way is to use my negativity to channel it into something positive.  I am using photos from when I was a child, telling stories of my childhood memories and feelings, and then covering the journaling and creating something beautiful out of it.  So far it is absolutely helping me work through some things.  After I create a spread I feel relieved.  I definitely feel that this is what  I need in my life!

Here are the spreads I have made so far.

I have made process videos for each of these spreads.  I have created a playlist so you can find them all in one place.  Please check it out!

Thank you for visiting.  I will see you again soon!

Weekly Wrap-Up: October 23-29, 2017

Hello everyone!  This week I created a few layouts that I want to share with you.  All of these have videos on YouTube so please go check them out!
Tuesdays have become the day for travelers notebooks here.  This is my first real travelers notebook.  There will be a post going more into that coming soon (I promise it's scheduled!!).  This week I created a spread about my relationship with my sister.

I used my mixed media travelers notebook from Scrapping Wonders.  I am in love with this notebook!  The paper is amazing!  I started out by adding my journaling.  You can't see it here because it is covered by the strip under the word friend.  I then free-handed the word "sisters".  I added black acrylic paint then some papers from Crate Paper (Cute Girl and Notes and Things).  The washi is wide washi from Felicity Jane.  Then I embellished using puffy stickers from Fancy Pants (Millie and June and Golden Days) and some gold sequins from Hobby Lobby.  I really am enjoying this process!

Thursday I posted 2 videos.  The layouts I created were using my September Secret Not Secret Kit Club $26 Kit.  My kit was amazing!  I have killed it and will have a video for that as soon as I get my October Kit.  Here are 2 of the layouts I created.

This layout was created a couple of weeks ago.  The text paper and blue diagonal stripe is from Bella Blvd.  The chevron glassine bag was part of my kit too.  The rest came from my stash.  The Live a Little is from Shimelle's Little by Little collection.  The tabs at the top and the banner on the photo are Simple Stories.  The chevrons, circles, and stars are all things that I fussy cut out of cardstock scraps.  The sequins are Honor Guard from SpiegelMom Scraps.  This is a fun layout about my daughters performing at a half-time show.
This layout was created using my kit and the October 15th sketch from Stuck?! Sketches.  I started out with some Shimmerz Coloringz in Pink Stilettos from SpiegelMom Scraps.  The butterfly and teal paper is Pink Paislee Paige Evans.  The rainbow paper is Crate Paper Cute Girl.  Then I used some die cuts from my kit and both alphas.  The enamel shapes and doily worked perfectly!  I also used a glassine bag that held pieces of the kit to layer some of the title on.  The picture is a selfie we took while I was waiting for a haircut.  I love Snapchat filters!

Sunday, I'm up on SpiegelMom Scraps YouTube Channel with a layout I created using the free cut file Jody created for October.

I used scraps from my stash to back these leaves.  I then used some Cork Confetti Butterflies (discontinued), Plum Dreamsicle (discontinued), and Sugar Maple sequins.  This has been a stretch for me using autumn colors and theme but I'm really starting to enjoy it!

Again, all of the layouts here have YouTube videos on my channel.  Please head over and check them out!   While you're there please subscribe!

Thanks for visiting!  See you again soon!

Secret Not Secret Kit Club Online Crop

Hello everyone! I'm here with a photo heavy post.  This past weekend (October 20-22) was the Secret Not Secret Kit Club's first ever online crop.  It was full of amazing things!  There were a total of 20 challenges and chances to win great prizes.  The 2 main prizes were the Slow Turtle and Secret SuperHero.  The Slow Turtle was for those scrappers that may take a little longer to cross the finish line.  The Secret SuperHero was for the scrapper that earned the most points by completing projects.

I finished all 20 challenges by 9pm on Sunday.  It was amazing!  I created 13 layouts and 3 tags.  So here is the crazy amount of layouts :)

I'm not going to try to list all of the products I used!  This would be the longest post e-v-e-r!  If you have questions I will gladly answer them :) I had so much fun!  There were so many great projects being entered that the inspiration was just flowing.  Everyone did such amazing work.  I was completely stunned at the amount of participation.
On Tuesday the Secret SuperHero was announced..... Instead of one there was two..... And I was one of them!! Amy Myers was the other winner.  She had so many fantastic layouts too!   I am so incredibly excited!  I get an awesome prize and I get to host a challenge during the November crop.  I can't wait for next month!

Thanks so much for visiting!  I will see you again next time!

SpiegelMom Scraps Sunday Funday with Daisie: Giraffe Family

Hey everyone!  I'm back with another layout for the SpiegelMom Scraps YouTube channel.  The new September sequin mixes are out and based on famous pieces of artwork.  The Sparklers are using artwork as their inspiration for the month of September.

I did a Pinterest search for a giraffe.  Crazy right?  Not like me.  I had 2 pictures, one of my daughter as a giraffe with a Snapchat filter and one with us posed by a giraffe statue.  So a giraffe seemed logical.  Here is the one I decided on.

Unfortunately I was unable to track this back to the original artist.  It does have a signature on the side that I think says Ester S. but I can't see it very clearly.  I loved the patchwork quality of this and the colors.  Its just what I was looking for.  Here is what I created with it.

I'm in love with this!!  I free-handed a giraffe shape, traced it with tracing paper, and pieced all of the scraps together.  I used 9 different sequin mixes (On Pointe, Aquarius, Lisa's Starry Night, Painted Gardens, Peachy Keen, Water Lilies, Gone With The Wind, Black Tie Event, & Just Beachin It).  I also used Shimmerz Coloringz in Night Moves and Pink Stilettos and Shimmerz Vibez in Jeni Be Bleu.  I added minimal layers and only a title.  I didn't want to take away from the amazing giraffe!  I really love this!

Here is the link to the video.  Please check it out!  Then head over to the SpiegelMom Scraps Blog and Instagram to see what the other Sparklers are up to!
