Paper Issues Layout Share and Process Video

Hello my scrappy people!  I have a few layouts today that were created for Paper Issues Facebook challenges.  One is for February and one is for March.  I've decided to combine the layouts I create for Paper Issues into one post to make it easier on me.

This first layout was created for the February Cut It Up challenge.  I do not own a die cutting machine (boohoo).  So I have begun to find ways to use cut files.  For this month, I used tracing paper and traced the hearts onto a piece of white cardstock.  I prepped the white cardstock with some gold Heidi Swapp Color Shine and some Frozen Lake Glimmer Mist from Tattered Angels.  I then pierced the paper around each of the hearts and hand-stitched most in white thread and a few in gold.  Here is the layout:

I used a piece of a cut apart sheet from Maggie Holmes Bloom to make the title card and the fringe layer.  The bow is handmade from a Craft Smith Gold Noir paper.  The You & Me flag is October Afternoon.  I didn't do a lot of embellishing because I didn't want to take away from the hearts.  The whole layout is matted on a We R Memory Keepers Wildflower paper.

The second layout I created was fro the March Paper Issues Sketchy Saturday challenge.  I used a free cut file from the Paper Issues shop to create the floral embellishments.  Again I used tracing paper.  I then used an X-acto knife to cut it out.  I back the areas with scraps of paper.  I used some yellow streamers to created a textured background.

I used a lot of scraps on this layout!  The only thing that isn't is the background cardstock and the floral layer.  I used a 12x12 sheet of Crate Paper Hello Love paper and cut some strips to layer.  I followed the sketch pretty closely for this.  Here is the sketch:

I created a YouTube video for the first layout.  Please check it out!  Like, comment, and subscribe please!  I appreciate everyone for watching!

Thanks for visiting!  See you again soon!

  1. Daisie, I love love love that you still use the cut files in such creative ways even without a cutting machine. That makes me so happy that you find a way to make them work!
