Look At That Hat Process Video / Stuck Sketches

by - 9:10 AM

Hello Everyone!!  I'm excited to be back with another layout and process video.  I have decided to narrow down the sketches I use.  At one point I was using sketches from 5-6 different blogs and Facebook groups.  This was time consuming and frustrating trying to keep up.  So I have narrowed it down to three; Stuck?! Sketches, Creative Scrappers, and Paper Issues.  Now I'm not saying I won't ever use any other blogs but for the most part I'm sticking with these three.

Today, I have a layout for the March 1st sketch from Stuck?! Sketches.  Laura Whitaker really knows how to put a sketch together!  I love the use of multiple photos, the grid design, and even the circles (bane of my scrappy existence).  Here is the sketch:

I chose to work with the Little by Little collection by Shimelle for American Crafts.  I featured this collection on my Instagram and Twitter feeds yesterday.  I absolutely love the softer colors in this collection!  The animals are so adorable and I think they will be easy to use.

I chose to mix it with one older paper from my stash.  I am trying to push myself to use more of my older products, especially my 12x12 loose paper collection.  I have a full Iris container and need to use some up if I want to get more!

Without further adieu, here is my layout:
I used one of the Shimelle Little by Little papers for the background.  This paper is called Higgledy Piggledy (great name!).  I love the color and the subtle details of the circles (gasp).  I matted the whole thing on a paper from My Mind's Eye My Girl collection called Kite Strings.  This is a 2013 collection.  I love how the two papers go together.  I used the back of that paper to mat my photos before putting them on the blue doilies that I got at the Dollar Spot at Target a lo-o-o-ong time ago.

I did some hand stitching around the background and on each of the embellishments and cards.  I used a 3x4 chalkboard card from We R Memory Keepers to do some mixed media on the background.  I used Heidi Swapp texture paste in metallic white.  The hearts and cards are both from the Shimelle Little by Little collections.  I fussy cut the hearts out of a full paper called Evolving Love.  The cards are part of one of the cut apart sheets called Think.

For my title, I used 3 sets of letter stickers.  The pink glitter foam letters are from Heidi Swapp.  The teal glitter foam letters are Thickers Sunny Reef.  The tile stickers are from My Mind's Eye.  The embellishments I used are some iridescent orange stars from Freckled Fawn and turquoise pearls from Dollar Tree.

Here's my process video for your viewing enjoyment!  Please like, comment, and subscribe!

Thanks for visiting!  I hope to see you again soon!
